Form and Size:
The leafy and prickly stems of thistle are 24 – 36 inches long. The flower heads are spherically shaped and have feather-like petals.

year-round, though more commonly summer – fall
Care Instructions:
Remove any leaves from the bottom of the stem that will fall below the water line, cut stems under water and place in fresh water with flower food.
History and Usage:
A member of the Compositae (aster) family, thistle originated in Japan. Thistle is beautiful in any arrangement. Because it has been known to dry very well, it works well in dried arrangements.
Points of Interest:
Relatives of thistle include chrysanthemum, dahlia, zinnia and marigold. Thistle is the official floral symbol of Scotland.
