Head Table Arrangements
Perhaps the most important table at the reception is the head
table where the bride and groom and their bridal party sit.
There are many lovely ways to decorate this table. Many brides
choose to use the unity candle arrangement as a centerpiece.
This is an attractive and economical choice. If the head table
is long, complementary arrangements can be placed at intervals
on the head table. These can be either round arrangements
or what we commonly call "long and low" arrangements
because of their shape. Some brides place their bridesmaids'
bouquets along the table to achieve a similar result. Roping
draped elegantly along the table is a favorite choice of many
brides. Roping can be made with netting, mixed greenery and
flowers, or with mixed greenery alone. An increasingly popular
choice among many brides is a beautiful floral backdrop known
as a wall of flowers. Consisting of pillars and lattice work
artfully covered by flowers and placed behind the head table,
this wall of flowers is a dramatic and elegant decorative
piece. Finally, rose petals can be romantically strewn across
the table top.
