| History and Usage: A member of the Plumbaginaceae (plumbago or leadwort) family, limonium originated in Europe and eastern Asia. Its botanical name, Limonium, comes from the word “leimon” which is Greek for a meadow. This is in reference to its original habitat. Limonium is lovely in dried arrangements as when dried it will last for years. Because of its airy appearance and delicate blossoms, limonium is a perfect filler flower in floral arrangements. |
